The RU3 combines a balanced headphone amplifier with an audiophile-grade Hi-Res D/A converter. As a mobile high-end solution for on the go, it optimally converts music streams from smartphones, tablets, or laptops for all headphones and in-ear monitors.

High-end technology in the smallest space

The RU3 was designed by Cayin for maximum everyday usability and sound quality. At just 6 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, its aluminum housing is more compact than any previous Cayin mobile DAC/headphone amplifier.

Yet, Cayin has managed to integrate sophisticated sound technology and a host of practical features into a device weighing only 24 grams. It can convert digital data streams up to 768kHz sampling frequency PCM and DSD512 in full resolution into the analog dimension. The volume can be finely adjusted in 100 steps.
The built-in ESS ES9069Q digital-to-analog converter (DAC) meets the highest expectations for sound quality. Thanks to the latest HyperStream IV dual architecture, no dynamic detail is lost.

Versatile connectivity and powerful headphone sound

The RU3 receives digital data streams from smartphones, tablets, or laptops via a USB-C input, which supports both UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0. This allows it to be used with all modern devices without additional software.

With its 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm (Pentaconn) jack outputs, the RU3 can optimally drive both unbalanced and balanced headphones and in-ear monitors. With up to 560 mW of output power at 32 ohms in the powerful Hyper mode, it delivers dynamic highs even to discerning listeners.

App Control and Customization

The Cayin RU3's color display keeps the user informed about input signals and operating modes at all times. In addition to two different gain modes (low or high efficiency), the user can also choose between five different digital filters, allowing for customization of the sound signature to individual listening preferences.

The Cayin app controls all of the RU3's functions. This includes the ability to activate a parametric equalizer with up to 10 bands, enabling adjustment of the frequency response curve to the user's hearing preferences.
