The Next Generation of Fostex RP Technology

The T60RPmk2CL is the latest closed-back model of Fostex's RP technology headphones, used in professional music studios worldwide and continuously refined since their introduction more than 50 years ago. It features the 4th generation planar magnetic RP driver, custom-designed and manufactured by Fostex, and is available as a new closed-back version of the T60RPmk2 with a solid black walnut cabinet.

Thanks to acoustic tuning that maximizes the characteristics of the closed-back design, you can enjoy the rich, rich sound found only in closed-back headphones, faithfully reproducing the original sound. This makes it the ideal planar magnetic headphone for ultimate listening pleasure.

4th Generation RP Driver

The latest generation of RP drivers has been further developed to enable even more precise sound reproduction. It incorporates more magnets surrounding the diaphragm and a redesigned coil pattern. This expands the diaphragm's vibration range and makes it more uniform. Additionally, the magnetic circuit has been optimized to better distribute the magnetic flux. This reduces unwanted resonances and ensures clear, precise sound reproduction, especially during dynamic changes. Thanks to these improvements, the new driver offers increased sensitivity, a balanced frequency response for reliable monitoring, and excellent transient characteristics. It enables detailed reproduction from low to high frequencies, improving sound source localization and the spatiality of the sound field. Like its predecessor, the T60RPmk2 continues to be manufactured by Fostex in Japan to ensure consistently high quality.

Optimized Cabling & Comfortable Ear Pads

The T60RPmk2 is designed for maximum cabling flexibility. It features independent ports on both sides of the housing and an innovative Y-cable connection that allows for easy rewiring. Thanks to the 2-pole 3.5 mm connector, the headphones are compatible with a wide range of devices and offer versatile connection options. The cable is made of high-quality OFC copper conductors, ensuring first-class signal transmission. For even more flexibility, an optional balanced cable is available.

The T60RPmk2 also impresses with its comfort. Its soft ear pads ensure a comfortable fit even during long listening sessions. For even more comfort and consistent sound quality from low to high frequencies, the ear pads can be replaced with separately available Toray Ultrasuede® ear pads, which offer an extra soft feel.
