The QUAD 33 is one of the most successful models in QUAD's history and has been setting standards in terms of design, performance and reliability for decades. With the new edition of the QUAD 33, QUAD once again demonstrates its long-standing expertise and heritage in the British hi-fi world - both past and present.

The development of this modern classic combines nearly 200 years of engineering experience and over 100 years of QUAD design and service.

A team of experts including Rob Flain and Paul McConville (the most experienced QUAD service technicians in the world), Jan Ertner (30 years of QUAD design experience), Peter Comeau (acoustics director for QUAD's most successful loudspeakers) and David McNeill (industrial designer behind many QUAD Innovations), has worked to ensure that the QUAD 33 is still a symbol of top performance today.

Function

The new QUAD 33 stays true to its roots and combines classic analogue technology with modern functions

The microprocessor control ensures easy handling, while the signal processing remains completely analog. The QUAD 33 offers multiple preamp outputs, including RCA and balanced XLR, as well as an AUX output for added versatility.

Technology

The QUAD 33 has an integrated phono stage that is compatible with both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges. A simple switch allows you to switch between the two options without the need for additional upgrades.

The phono stage offers a gain of 46 dB for MM and 63.5 dB for MC. Thanks to the ultra-low noise audio operational amplifiers and precise RIAA processing, the sound is reproduced cleanly and without distortion.

Steering

The control of the QUAD 33 is simple and clear. The controls are logically grouped, and a backlit LCD screen displays all settings and values. The brightness of the buttons and the screen can be individually adjusted.

The motorized ALPS volume control ensures precise and noise-free volume control. The volume can be easily controlled using the remote control, with the knob rotating automatically.

Additional controls for bass, tilt and balance enable fine tuning of the sound without affecting the harmonic range. The bass can be adjusted by -3 dB to +3 dB, ideal for subtle changes in the low frequency range.

The Tilt control, a unique QUAD feature, adjusts the sound by increasing or decreasing both the treble and bass without affecting the overall volume.
