The new QUAD 3 brings the legendary look of the QUAD classics into the present – ​​combined with state-of-the-art technology and exceptional versatility. Inspired by the classic design of the QUAD 22 and 33, but with a clear focus on current applications, the QUAD 3 builds an elegant bridge between tradition and progress.

The result: an audiophile integrated amplifier with extensive digital and analog features, developed for both classic hi-fi enthusiasts and modern music streamers – including HDMI ARC, Bluetooth aptX HD, USB, and a high-resolution DAC.

Proven sound philosophy reimagined

Visually, the QUAD 3 is based on the design language of its famous predecessors. The compact housing shape, the orange display illumination, and the understated front design with finely graduated rotary encoders pay homage to QUAD's design history with attention to detail.

But beneath the stylish exterior lies a state-of-the-art interior: An ESS9038Q2M DAC ensures the highest resolution and sound precision, supported by a Class A output stage for analog post-processing. Additionally, the QUAD 3 enables upsampling for SPDIF and USB sources, as well as full MQA decoding—perfect for studio-quality streaming services.

Equipped for any source

In addition to two analog line-level inputs and a high-quality MM phono stage for vinyl enthusiasts, the QUAD 3 offers a wide range of digital connections: USB-B (up to 768 kHz PCM / DSD512), coaxial, optical, and HDMI ARC. Wireless streaming via Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD ensures the highest sound quality from a smartphone or tablet.

The combination of digital flexibility and analog soul makes the QUAD 3 the ideal centerpiece for modern hi-fi systems – regardless of source or playback format.

Finely tuned tone control

The intuitively operated rotary encoders on the front panel allow for precise adjustments not only of the volume but also of the sound. The well-known QUAD "Tilt" control alters the sound across the entire frequency range – optionally warmer or cooler. The bass control also allows for adjustment of the low-frequency range. All functions can also be controlled via the included system remote control.

Powerful and compact

Inside the unit is a Class AB power amplifier with a generous power supply: a 235VA toroidal transformer and 30,000µF filter capacitance provide robust reserves. This gives the QUAD 3 an output power of 2 x 65W at 8 ohms (up to 100W at 4 ohms) – sufficient to drive even demanding speakers with ease.

A separate current-feedback headphone amplifier also ensures excellent sound, even when listening through headphones.
