AMC

The green button sends greetings……….and brings back memories………!

The AMC brand name was generated by computer in 1970. AMC stands for - Advanced Merit Concept - in German one step ahead or in front of the others.

In the 1970s, AMC developed a new amplifier topology with soft clipping, soft crossover and soft power supply. The result was a super high dynamic range combined with low distortion. These transistor amplifiers were comparable in sound quality to Tube amplifiers (a huge advance at the time). Since then, it has established AMC's excellent reputation for excellent sound quality.

AMC is part of Weltronics Corp., based in South Pasadena (USA). The products are developed in London and Los Angeles. Manufacturing and production takes place in Weltronic's own factory in Taiwan. It belongs to AMC founder and owner Amcli Lin. AMC devices offer all the important details and are still affordable. Our electrical, mechanical, software, firmware and acoustic/visual designs are clear examples of AMC's ability to produce very high quality components at affordable prices.

AMC's devices are classic hi-fi devices whose appearance has been around for several decades and is deliberately retained by AMC. Technically, of course, constantly developed and improved. I can think of three brand names - which I won't mention out of respect - that used to have some similarity. Unfortunately, two manufacturers no longer exist, but they have a large fan base.
