The TH910/TH919 build upon these strengths of the TH900 series, having been completely redesigned from the ground up—from the driver and cabinet to the overall construction—to represent the next generation.

Newly Developed 50mm BioDyna Driver

The BioDyna driver, renowned for its high resolution and exceptionally balanced sound, has been significantly enhanced. The newly designed surround improves amplitude stability, enabling precise and well-defined low frequencies without excessive excursion.

Furthermore, unwanted resonances are suppressed, preventing distortion from background noise and resulting in a natural and balanced midrange. Enjoy high-resolution, clear, and balanced sound quality that maintains dynamic range and richness, with precise bass, transparent and clear midrange, and brilliant treble that reproduces every detail of the music.

Use of lightweight magnesium alloy mechanical parts

A redesigned magnesium alloy construction for mechanical parts such as the base plate and suspension bracket contributes to a 20% weight reduction compared to aluminum. Rubber dampers are used for the swivel mechanism to eliminate excessive vibration as much as possible. The meticulous design approach, which considers every detail of every part, further enhances wearing comfort.

Solid maple cabinet with traditional Japanese "Urushi" lacquer finish

The solid maple cabinet features a lacquer finish developed in-house by Sakamoto Otozo Shoten Co., Ltd., a company founded in 1900 (Meiji 33) that integrates traditional Japanese craftsmanship into industrial products. The "foil pattern," which uses black lacquer as a base layer and overlays sulfur-smoked silver foil torn into pieces and applied like a collage, conveys a sense of luxury and depth. The solid, high-density hardwood, combined with the hard lacquer finish, adds no unnecessary coloration to the sound, allowing you to enjoy a solid, deep bass response and a clear, wide treble range. The open-back TH919 uses aluminum with a matte anodized finish based on a geometric pattern inspired by the “Kumiko” woodwork on the housing opening, a precise two-layer structure with laser-cut grid processing, and careful adjustment of the opening ratios and internal components, reproducing a natural sound field with high resolution and minimal listener fatigue, as befits an open-back design.

Newly Shaped Ear Pads with New Materials

The new ear pads feature a beveled surface for an optimal fit. The inner, elastic urethane consists of two layers: a soft outer layer and a highly flexible inner layer to conform to the shape of your head. Furthermore, the use of synthetic leather made from silk protein, which is three times more durable than conventional materials, ensures superior comfort even during extended listening sessions.

Flexibly Adjustable Headband and Padding

The headband and padding are made of natural sheepskin, providing a smooth and comfortable fit.

Featuring a proprietary, high-purity OFC unbalanced 2-pole 3.5 mm Y-cable.

For the internal wiring and the included unbalanced cable, we used 7N grade (99.99999%) oxygen-free copper, which has been refined to the utmost to eliminate impurities and improve transmission capacity. We also plan to release a balanced 4.4 mm cable (ETTH4.4BL2Y).
