The suffix "Selection" on the new MA-80 stands for a rigorous selection of this amplifier series specially built for Germany. Despite the very affordable price, for which one usually only gets sober transistor technology, nothing was saved. The 16.5 kg heavy tube amplifier with its front-side moving coil instrument allows monitoring and, if necessary, fine adjustment of the individual tubes by means of a trim potentiometer that is accessible from the outside.

His tubes: 4 x 5BK7A NOS tubes, 4 x KT88! The amp produces 2 x 18 watts at 4 and 8 ohms in triode mode. In ultra-linear operation, the power at 4 and 8 ohms increases to 2 x 35 watts.

In issue 11/12, AUDIO already took a close look at the device, which was available with a silver or black front panel, and was amazed: "The MA-80 offered a fantastic amount of air for its price range" and "the completely unobstructed view of the branches of the guitar then triggered a back shower . "
