With the N7+ Hi-Res player, Cayin presents another highlight in the mobile hi-fi segment. Discrete D/A converters and fully symmetrical headphone amplifiers with bipolar transistors in Class A or Class A/B circuitry leave nothing to be desired in terms of sound, even for demanding high-end players. The amplifier circuitry is optimized for both the built-in balanced and unbalanced headphone outputs, ensuring optimal power for any headphone and in-ear monitor.

Mobile Hi-Res Player for High-End Demands

A consistent high-end philosophy in the mobile hi-fi segment is not always sustainable due to its compact design. The Cayin N7+ sets new standards here with its completely symmetrical circuit and circuit board layout. The casing is precision-crafted from a special aluminum-magnesium alloy and, thanks to its sandblasted titanium finish, is also a delight to the touch. Its 5-inch Full HD TFT display, with multi-touch and gesture control, and scratch-resistant glass, leaves nothing to be desired.

Compared to its predecessor, the N7+'s built-in battery life has been extended, with up to 13 hours (Class A/B, unbalanced).

The fully symmetrical volume control is implemented by a dedicated circuit and, using the unique metal rotary dial, allows adjustment in 256 sensitive steps of 0.5 dB each. This ensures that the fully symmetrical headphone amplifier can drive all suitable headphones within the optimal control range, either via the 3.5 mm jack or the Pentaconn connector (4.4 mm).

Many Applications and Highest Resolution

The Cayin N7+ is not only a Hi-Res player for files and data streams up to PCM768 and DSD512, but can do much more. Both unbalanced and balanced analog output jacks are available, which, thanks to the high-quality volume control, turn it into a compact preamplifier, or integrate it into your home system as a network streamer with a fixed output level.

Its USB-C output and the alternative I2S (for DSD) also provide the high-quality data unprocessed if desired, allowing it to function as a streaming device. The internal storage can be expanded up to 1 TB with a memory card.

Wi-Fi connectivity makes it a modern streaming device, allowing for updates and the integration of streaming services. Thanks to the customized and pre-installed Android 12.0 and access to the Google Play Store, content from other streaming services or music apps such as Qobuz or Apple Music can also be played via the N7+.

For full compatibility with wireless headphones, the N7+ can also be used in transmitter mode, making its digital data available wirelessly.

Fully symmetrical, discrete circuit design

The Cayin N7+'s bipolar output transistors can be operated either in Class A or Class A/B mode. This allows the sound character to be tailored to your own preferences or the connected headphones. Class A amplification provides a warm, maximally transparent sound. This creates a detailed, pleasant sound. Perfect conditions for the unadulterated reproduction of modern music with rich detail. Class A/B, on the other hand, offers improved dynamics and fast impulse processing and is often the preferred choice for higher dynamic range requirements.

After numerous listening tests, the Cayin developers opted for dual bipolar transistors for the discrete driver stage, which allows for symmetrical Class A circuitry in push-pull operation.

In the headphone amplifier itself, the low-noise JFET stage drives the actual bipolar output transistors, so-called BJTs (Bipolar Junction Transistors), in differential mode. Noise and distortion are thus reduced to an absolute minimum, and the power is increased to 330mW in asymmetrical and 690mW in symmetrical operation.
