The combination of headphones and matching headphone amplifier is of great importance for the perfect audiophile sound. In the search for a headphone amplifier with a good sound, the team led by Rupert Neve Design could not find an amp that met the requirements. This is how Rupert Neve came up with the idea of developing his own headphone amplifier, the Precision headphone amplifier of the fidelice series, together with his team.
The Precision Headphone-Amp is based on the circuit design of the 5060 Centerpice with its legendary headphone amplifier. The uncompromising sound and the large selection of compatible headphones predestined the reference amplifier, which is based on 24V circuits, to move from the desktop housing of the 5060 Centerpice to its own housing made of aluminum and mahogany. The Precision headphone amplifier of the fidelice series was born.
Internal or external headphone amplifier
On many pro audio and high fidelity gear, the headphone output is usually just an additional feature to the actual amplifier. Most devices with integrated headphone amplifiers have a large range of functions, little space inside and usually a low price. This usually results in compromises in headphone amplifier performance and audio quality, which in practice can lead to a number of problems such as low headroom, unreliable performance or lack of sound transparency. This is different with the Precision headphone amplifier, which was developed with the express aim of fully exploiting the potential of every headphone model.
The circuit design of the Precision headphone amplifier was developed to achieve excellent audio quality and precise detail resolution with the greatest possible power output. This concept is the prerequisite for the fact that every headphone component, no matter how power-hungry, can be supplied with more than adequate performance. This exceptional level of quality allows the listener to experience the full depth and detail of their music. This inspires the artist in the studio to perform at their best and allows the sound engineer to make better decisions when recording and mixing music tracks.

The Precision headphone amplifier not only impresses with its performance. The variety of audio inputs is also convincing. A balanced input as XLR jack combo sockets, an unbalanced cinch input and a 3.5 mm stereo jack input offer a variety of connection options. Switching between sources is conveniently done from the front of the Precision Headphone Amplifier. This makes the Precision headphone amplifier the ideal tool for an audiophile sound experience at home or in the studio.
