The T50RPmk4CL is the latest closed-back headphone model featuring RP technology, which has been used in professional music studios worldwide for over 50 years and has been continuously refined since its introduction. Equipped with the 4th-generation RP driver featuring Fostex's proprietary planar magnetic driver, the T50RPmk4 is a long-awaited closed-back model. It delivers dense sound reproduction that suppresses ambient noise during vocal and instrument recording in the studio and during mixing, and can be used as a closed-back headphone with the precise sound reproduction of the RP drivers.
 
4th Generation RP Driver

Developed over 50 years ago and continually refined over the years, RP technology now enters its 4th generation. A new printed coil shape has been used to expand and equalize the vibration range of the flat-panel diaphragm. Furthermore, the number of magnets surrounding the diaphragm has been significantly increased. Furthermore, the components of the magnetic circuit have been redesigned to optimize the distribution of magnetic flux, suppress unnecessary resonances, and achieve even better transient response. This 4th generation driver, which utilizes various technologies refined over the years, simultaneously offers increased sensitivity, a balanced frequency response, and excellent transient response. By accurately and sensitively reproducing elements across the entire frequency spectrum, the soundstage and localization have also been improved. The new driver is also more efficient and requires less power from the headphone amplifier to achieve peak performance.


Symmetrical housing allows cable connection on either side of the head without compromising sound quality.

Both the left and right housings are equipped with connectors for the included cable, allowing the cable to be connected to either the left or right side depending on the application. The symmetrical design of the left and right housings eliminates the difference in sound characteristics normally caused by the different internal structures of the two sides. The connector features a 4-pole 3.5 mm plug that supports balanced connections, thus increasing usability and versatility. High-quality OFC conductors are used for the cable. Optional balanced cables are available: φ2.5: ET-RP2.5BL, φ4.4: ET-RP4.4BL, and XLR: ETRPXLR.
Comfortable ear cushions

The new, thicker ear cushions have less elasticity and are contoured around the ear, making them comfortable to wear even for extended listening sessions.
