The Fostex TH-810 was developed to make the exceptional musicality—derived from the stunning resolution and exquisite sound quality of our flagship TH-910/TH-919 headphones—accessible to a wider audience. To capture the essence of the flagship model’s captivating sound even without a lacquer finish, we selected solid acacia wood from a range of high-quality woods, making this model the new standard in our premium headphone lineup.

A solid acacia wood body that embodies the essence of the flagship sound

To achieve the same exquisite sound as the traditional, lacquered solid hard maple body used in the TH910/TH919 models, we have selected solid acacia wood that has been carefully sourced from various suppliers. This acacia wood cabinet—a wood prized for its fascinating resonance and frequently used for guitars and ukuleles—allows us to enjoy the same rich, deep bass and clear, resonant treble that characterize the TH910/TH919 models. Since the cabinet is made of solid natural wood, each unit may vary in grain, texture, color, and knotholes; however, this has no effect on sound quality.

Newly Developed 50-mm Biodynamic Driver

The Biodynamic driver, which has received widespread praise for its high resolution and exceptionally smooth sound quality, has undergone a fundamental redesign. A newly developed surround improves amplitude stability and enables tight, clearly defined bass reproduction without excessive bloat. Furthermore, by suppressing unwanted resonances, distortion caused by noise is eliminated, resulting in a natural and balanced midrange. From precise bass that retains its volume and depth, to a transparent, open midrange, to sparkling highs—enjoy a rich, clear, and balanced sound quality that reproduces every detail of the music without compromise.

Use of Lightweight Mechanical Components Made of Magnesium Alloy

A magnesium alloy is used for mechanical components such as the base plate and the suspensions, resulting in a 20% reduction in weight compared to aluminum. In addition, rubber seals are used in the rotating mechanisms to minimize unwanted vibrations. Through a design philosophy that carefully considers every detail of each individual component, we have made improvements that further enhance the user experience.

Redesigned ear pads with new material

The redesigned ear pads feature a contoured surface that conforms to the face, thereby optimizing comfort. The integrated memory foam has a two-layer structure: a soft outer layer and a highly elastic inner layer that conforms to the contours of the face. In addition, the use of silk protein-based synthetic leather ensures comfortable wear even during extended listening sessions.

The ear pads and headband are made of natural sheepskin and offer a supple, comfortable fit that develops a unique patina with use.

The new, specially developed, high-purity OFC Y-cable (2-pole, 3.5 mm, unbalanced)

For both the internal wiring and the included unbalanced cable, we use high-purity OFC (oxygen-free copper) cable of 7N grade (99.99999%), which minimizes impurities and improves transmission performance. Additionally, you can use the optional balanced 4.4-mm cable ET-TH4.4BL2Y or the balanced XLR cable ET-TH-XLR2Y.
