With the MT-35 MK3, Cayin now makes the audiophile dream of their own tube sound particularly affordable and suitable for everyday use. With 36 watts of power per channel, a Bluetooth receiver, headphone output, and VU meter, it has everything a modern amp should have.

The Cayin MT-35 MK3 combines the finest tube sounds with everyday performance in a uniquely affordable way: In ultra-linear mode, its four output tubes deliver an astonishing two times 36 watts of power. The amplification itself is carried out in a particularly effective Class A/B push-pull mode for powerful dynamics from the four EL34 tubes.

The output transformers, which are equally crucial to the sound, were specially developed for the MT-35 Mk3 circuitry. The high-quality Alps potentiometer ensures precise, channel-identical volume control.

An easy-to-install protective cage is included. It reliably prevents accidental contact with the tubes and allows a clear view of the seven illuminated glass bulbs.

Four Inputs for a Modern Tube System

Affordable price, classic tube circuitry, and versatile application options go hand in hand with the Cayin MT-35 Mk3. Three RCA inputs are available for analog sources.

A Bluetooth receiver is also built in for direct wireless playback of digital signals. With Bluetooth 5.1 and high-quality codecs such as AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC, high quality is guaranteed, even when streaming. A full-size headphone output on the front panel drives standard headphones with an impedance of 16 to 300 ohms. The central backlit VU meter not only gives the MT-35 Mk3 a classic look and displays the current power level, but also serves to optimize the bias for each individual power tube.

Circuitry, Tube Configuration, and Compatibility

The amplifier circuitry of the MT-35 Mk3 is a Cayin in-house development and hand-assembled in a point-to-point wiring configuration. Equipped with four EL34 power tubes, it generates sufficient power for many commercially available loudspeakers. Different taps on the specially developed, wide-band output transformer with dedicated 4- or 8-ohm terminals allow for optimal adaptation to either high- or low-impedance speakers.

The power tubes can be operated either in the more powerful ultralinear/pentode mode or in triode mode. If the latter is activated via the switch on the top panel, the effective power is halved to two times 18 watts, but the sound character is more refined for purists, more typical of triodes.

The bias voltage for each tube can be individually optimized with a trimmer; the central dial serves as a simple indicator for optimal settings.

The preamp uses classic 12AX7/ECC83 and 12AU7/ECC82 tubes. Those who want to customize the sound of the Cayin MT-35 Mk3 can replace the EL34 power tubes with compatible models such as 6CA7, 6L6, 5881, or similar.
