ATOLL CD 200 Evolution

With the CD 200 Evolution, ATOLL is making a new statement in the ranks of its own CD players.

The heart of this device is the PCM1792A converter from Burr Brown with a symmetrical/differential current output. The further conversion into voltage signals is carried out by discrete circuit stages with bipolar transistors. And the processing of the signals for transmission to your preamplifier/integrated amplifier is carried out by a discrete differential Class-A output stage.

This will let you experience new heights of sound!

But what good is the best circuit technology without a stable power supply?

Two transformers (a 30VA low-noise toroidal core for the digital section and a cast 10VA transformer for the analog section) carry out the first transformation step.

No fewer than 10 linear regulators stabilize these voltages and then supply the individual sections of the device.

This power supply concept forms the basis for crystal-clear, nuanced playback, from the black bass to the airy heights.

The Evolution version has now also been equipped with a 1.6VA standby transformer. This means that the power consumption in standby mode drops to less than 0.5W!

One question remains: Why not use all these excellent features for other digital sources?

No problem: The CD 200 can be expanded with the DCD100 digital input board, allowing the connection of an optical, a coaxial digital source and a computer via USB.

All 3 inputs process PCM up to 24/192k. The USB input works asynchronously with an XMOS with specific Atoll firmware.
