T60RPmk2 – The Next Generation of Fostex RP Technology

The T60RPmk2 is the latest model to feature Fostex's RP technology, which has been established in professional music studios worldwide for over 50 years. An evolution of the popular T60RP, it features a redesigned 4th-generation RP driver. This fully driven planar diaphragm driver was developed and patented by Fostex. Encased in a high-quality black walnut cabinet, the headphones combine technological innovation with premium design.

RP technology, a Fostex trademark, ensures that the entire surface of the flat diaphragm vibrates synchronously, enabling precise sound reproduction. Each cabinet is crafted from solid natural wood, creating individual variations in grain, texture, and coloration—without compromising sound quality.

The semi-open design, crafted from premium black walnut, combines aesthetic elegance with acoustic precision. The natural wood structure provides a warm, balanced sound, from deep, powerful bass to crystal-clear highs – for an immersive listening experience.

4th Generation RP Driver

The latest generation of RP drivers has been further developed to enable even more precise sound reproduction. It incorporates more magnets surrounding the diaphragm and a redesigned coil pattern. This expands the diaphragm's vibration range and makes it more uniform. Additionally, the magnetic circuit has been optimized to better distribute the magnetic flux. This reduces unwanted resonances and ensures clear, precise sound reproduction, especially during dynamic changes. Thanks to these improvements, the new driver offers increased sensitivity, a balanced frequency response for reliable monitoring, and excellent transient characteristics. It enables detailed reproduction from low to high frequencies, improving sound source localization and the spatiality of the sound field. Like its predecessor, the T60RPmk2 continues to be manufactured by Fostex in Japan to ensure consistently high quality.

Optimized Cabling & Comfortable Ear Pads

The T60RPmk2 was designed for maximum cabling flexibility. It features independent ports on both sides of the housing and an innovative Y-cable connection that allows for easy rewiring. Thanks to the 2-pole 3.5 mm connector, the headphones are compatible with a wide range of devices and offer versatile connection options. The cable is made of high-quality OFC copper conductors, ensuring first-class signal transmission. For even more flexibility, an optional balanced cable is available.

The T60RPmk2 also impresses with its comfort. Its soft ear pads ensure a comfortable fit even during long listening sessions. For even more comfort and consistent sound quality from low to high frequencies, the ear pads can be replaced with separately available Toray Ultrasuede® ear pads, which offer an extra soft feel.
