The EVO4 follows the concept of the successful EVO series, the predecessor, and represents the evolution of an affordable, high-quality audio system. More than just a reissue, the EVO4 combines the EVO concept with the technology of Wharfedale's new flagship, the ELYSIAN. Just like ELYSIAN, the EVO4 pushes the boundaries of technology and performance for loudspeakers in this price range. Of particular note, the Wharfedale EVO4 series utilizes a specially developed AMT (Air Motion Transformer) transducer for silky-smooth high-frequency reproduction. The AMT is designed to move a larger volume of air during reproduction than with a conventional soft-dome tweeter. This higher pressure, promoted by the principles of AMT design, results in improved punctual high-frequency reproduction with lower distortion characteristics than conventional tweeters. This is evident in the stunning and pure clarity of the musical performance of all EVO4 Series speakers.

AMT

The AMT (Air Motion Transformer) high-frequency transducer outperforms all competing models in this class. The targeted, voluminous air movement results in lower distortion and greater accuracy in high-frequency reproduction.

Precision

Articulate and precise bass is perfected by the bidirectionally woven Kevlar cones – a material that is inherently self-damping and reduces resonances to virtually negligible levels. Furthermore, a fixed, profiled phase plug ensures smooth acoustic decay.

In accordance with the uncompromising processes and standards of Wharfedale loudspeaker development, hundreds of hours of listening and the specially developed WHARFEDALE Computer-Aided Optimization technology allow the crossover to be fine-tuned and the driver selection to be perfected for ultimate performance.
