The B1xi doesn’t completely subjugate any of the other amps we’ve looked at, in part because they each have slightly different design priorities. It might be best to view it as splitting the difference between the ‘largely analogue but with convenience digital inputs’ of the Rega and ‘superb digital and HDMI but fractionally less capable analogue’ of the Audiolab. It’s an absolute all rounder and one that - HDMI foibles aside - is going to be an inviting first taste of Musical Fidelity for many owners.
