M6sPRX – Overview

Derived from its famous M6 PRX predecessor, the M6sPRX is a 230 watt per channel power amplifier with a unique Choke Regulated Power Supply (CRPS). The circuit topology of the M6sPRX is basically the same as its premium ancestors Titan or M8, but the CRPS gives it its own technical face. The M6sPRX has an aura of unwavering performance and an effortless quality that makes your speakers seemingly bigger and better than they really are. The M6sPRX has two sets of switchable inputs. Its main output jacks (loop) also allow it to be used in bi- or even tri-amping configurations.

Due to its performance, it works effortlessly and is unaffected by low impedances; Its stability reserves are so great that virtually any loudspeaker can be used. All of this is the foundation of what the M6sPRX's main goal is: delivering fantastic sounding music.

Because of its complex configuration, it produces large, stable sound images with an effortless, clear, very fine resolution. His basses have huge penetrating power and a punch with high-speed attitude. All in all, the M6sPRX offers true high-end sound quality - a compact package, reliable and at a fair price.

M6sPRX – Technical background

The fit and finish of the M6 ​​PRX is fantastic - as is the entire M6s series. Its high-quality metal housing makes a style statement and offers performance-enhancing solidity. The massive heat sinks enable the power amplifier to always work under optimal temperature conditions thanks to their special, horizontal design. Inside the custom-made chassis sits the same renowned double-mono design as our “big” power amplifiers.

But what really sets the M6sPRX apart is its unique Choke Regulated Power Supply (CRPS). This design is an extremely effective solution to eliminate network noise. Choke controls have been widely used in traditional tube amplifiers, but we were the first to implement them using solid-states. We exclusively use a dual bifilar choke coil system for ultimate noise reduction and highest immunity to interference from the power supply.

The sonic effects of our CRPS are astonishing: the sound is calm and subtle, with precise imaging and the finest detail resolution. Add the power, speed and dynamics guaranteed by the 230 watts per channel, and it's easy to see why the M6sPRX is described as a truly world-class amplifier that will drive any speaker effortlessly.

Switchable inputs and flexible output options allow the M6sPRX to be used in a variety of playback systems. Its ideal preamp partner is of course the M6sPRE. On the input side, the M6sPRX is very versatile. It can be operated both symmetrically (XLR) and asymmetrically (RCA/Cinch). Thanks to the switching option, it is also conceivable to operate the M6sPRX in two systems without having to switch over. As an example, a parallel configuration of a high-quality analog stereo chain and a home cinema setup would be conceivable. Input A is operated via RCA connection, input B can be switched between XLR and RCA.

The input signal is output untreated at the loop output, which invites you to experiment with cascading several output stages. Be it horizontal or vertical bi- or multiple-amping. With horizontal bi-amping, an M6sPRX power amplifier is used for the low-frequency range of the stereo setup and another for the high-frequency range.

With vertical bi-amping, one M6sPRX power amplifier is used for the left speaker and another for the right speaker. We recommend the latter option. Of course, the prerequisite is a bi-wiring capable speaker.
