Reference pickup from Skyanalog The manufacturer Skyanalog, which has been successful on the market with high-quality MC pickups for years, is introducing a new pickup: The “Reference” model is Skyanalog's top model and belongs to the absolute top class of pickups. To achieve such a level of quality, designer Jack Leung developed a completely new MC pickup, which is created using an extremely precise manufacturing process. The completely redesigned system body was created through a large number of tests, the result is a construction that is very susceptible to resonance.

In addition, the symmetrical design allows for easy installation of the scanner and uncomplicated adjustment.

The new generator design allows better interference suppression during scanning. The precision-machined components of the magnetic circuit are pre-assembled selected to guarantee the most accurate functionality possible. The scanning diamond with a complex micro-ridge cut ensures precise guidance of the scanning needle in the record groove and thus enables very detailed reproduction of high frequencies with minimal distortion. In conjunction with the light and extremely rigid sapphire needle carrier used here, this results in one of the highest quality scanning systems on the market.
