Verdict:.."Coming from the iDAC-6 MK1 to the MK2 is quite a leap in performance. Never mind the funky GUI LCD which is more of a user bonus. The MK2 is more of a testimony to Cayin’s engineering skills in terms of how they can deliver a sound signature that they really want, irrespective of the DAC they choose to work with."

Description

Thanks to the new ESS ES9028Pro converter chip, this desktop D / A converter decodes in native mode up to 32 bit / 768 kHz as well as DSD512 and DoP256 and offers six digital inputs: USB audio, AES / EBU, BNC, Cinch, Toslink and I2S via Mini-HDMI. The Cayin iDAC-6MKII can be switched between a vacuum tube or a semiconductor buffer stage for the RCA and XLR outputs in order to match the hearing sensation of its user through two different sound characteristics down to the smallest nuance. Switching between fixed level and regulated volume enables direct control of power amplifiers or active speakers. The desktop DAC from the flagship Cayin CS-100DAC adopted the 3.95-inch AMOLED display and operating concept.
