Immerse yourself in the 3D surround sound of Dolby Atmos® or DTS:X in 5.2.2-channel speaker arrangement, or enjoy similar effects with Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer and DTS Virtual:X even without height or surround speakers . The VSX-935 supports Ultra HD, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision™ pass-through for even more lifelike images. The VSX-935 also supports HDMI 2.1*1 for 8K, VRR, ALLM, QFT pass-through for next-generation video/gaming with HDCP 2.3. You can stream songs from various sources via Music Server, Bluetooth®, DTS Play-Fi, Sonos System and Apple AirPlay 2. It is Roon tested, which makes streaming music from AV devices easier. Other highlights include the Powered Zone 2 function with dedicated DAC, personal preset buttons, 2 HDMI outputs, and it works with Alexa/Ok Google for voice control.

HDMI 2.1 for a powerful viewing and gaming experience

The VSX-935's HDMI ports*1 support 8K/60p (4:4:4/12-bit*2, 4:2:0/10-bit), 8K/30p (4:4:4/12-bit) Bit*2, 4:4:4/10-Bit, 4:2:2/12-Bit), 4K/120p (4:4:4/12-Bit*2, 4:4:4/10-Bit , 4:2:2/12-bit) video passthrough to compatible displays as well as HDCP 2.3, so you won't have any problems upgrading to new devices. HDMI 2.1 also supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to eliminate lag, judder and picture stutter for a smooth gaming experience. Various enhancements like ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and QFT (Quick Frame Transport) help optimize latency and further limit lag to ensure you're always at the top of your game.

Dolby Atmos®/Dolby Surround upmixing

The VSX-935 is compatible with the 5.2.2 channel configuration of the latest cinema sound platform Dolby Atmos®. You can reproduce the object-oriented sound in smooth, curved movements or the realistic three-dimensional movement through the top speakers. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be upmixed with Dolby Surround to enjoy 3D surround sound.

DTS:X®/DTS Neural:X Upmixing

DTS:X is DTS' next-generation audio codec that leverages object-based audio to enable new immersive and interactive audio experiences. Because DTS:X can automatically adjust audio to match existing channels and speaker system, no special speaker arrangement is required. Experience an immersive soundscape with incredibly rich and lifelike sound. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be upmixed with DTS Neural:X to enjoy 3D surround sound.

Dolby Atmos height virtualization

When playing any Dolby format, activating the Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer enables an even more immersive listening experience by creating a virtual surround and height effect from traditional speaker layouts without the need to use additional surround or height speakers.

DTS Virtual:X

DTS Virtual:X lets you enjoy three-dimensional, immersive sound similar to DTS:X without the need for height or rear speakers. The technology supports 2 to 7.1.4 channel input sources, for output to 2 to 5.1 or even 7.1 channel speaker layout. DTS Virtual:X works with all DTS codecs including DTS:X.

Personal default

Simply press the Personal Preset button on the front for three seconds and your current settings such as volume and listening mode can be saved. Up to three presets can be registered and easily accessed using the front panel button or remote control.

Dialogue extension

This unique midrange control feature allows you to make independent volume controls for the range including dialogue in movies using the up/down button on the remote control.

MCACC Automatic room tuning

Create the optimal acoustic environment with Pioneer's MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System), developed with the expertise of professional recording studios. With the custom microphone, the system automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level and distance and balances the response.

Works with SONOS

When you integrate the VSX-935 into the Sonos ecosystem with Connect or Port, you can play any music or audio source through your Sonos app. If Volume Pass Through mode is selected in the Sonos app settings, you can control the volume of the device through the Sonos app or yourself. Enjoy high-quality playback from the AV receiver via the Sonos app, just like your favorite Sonos system.

Powered Zone 2 with Dedicated DAC

GWith the active function, the VSX-935 can directly drive speakers in another room without the need for a separate amplifier. Additionally, the dedicated Zone 2 DAC allows you to listen to all digital audio sources.

Zone B output for wireless headphones

The VSX-935 is equipped with Zone B audio outputs, allowing you to expand the sound of the main zone by connecting your wireless headphone dock. You can receive the sound playing in the living room through wireless headphones.
